The funding will be used to finance micro, small, and medium businesses, women-owned businesses in particular, as well as to support green business and environmentally friendly projects that have a positive effect on mitigating climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Effort to Reduce Air Pollution and Greenhouse Gas Emissions
XacBank has been implementing projects to reduce air pollution in Ulaanbaatar as well as to contribute to the climate change mitigation. It started Eco Product Distribution Program in 2009, and has distributed over 143,015 improved heating stoves, 19,850 improved ‘ger’ insulation blankets (for nomadic dwelling) to the ger area households in Ulaanbaatar which covered 80% of households in the capital city. Energy efficient stoves and insulated ger blankets helped the households to reduce its coal consumption by half to heat their homes in the winter.
