Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 offers that much-needed shot of nostalgia, from a time where all any of us wanted to do was feel cool. Tony Hawk represented counter culture and Pro Skater was emblematic of that iconic time. While some reshuffling may dampen the experience for purists, the wealth of content found in 3 + 4 proves that Tony Hawk is a timeless champion and this remake is a thrilling reminder of how a legacy is made.
What's here is great, but I'd love to see more of it. Whether that's in the form of DLC, that long-rumored THUG remaster, or even a brand-new game, only time will tell. For almost thirty years now, THPS games have given me some of the best memories I've had in gaming, and that certainly continues with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4. Like my skater at the competition in Rio, it deserves a gold medal.
As an old THPS 3 fan, I was looking forward hugely to this game and man, it is exactly as I expected. I love the levels, the tweaked goals, the smooth 1+2 gameplay, the soundtrack (yes, I miss some of the old songs, but I found myself rarely skipping new ones), the extra challenges.
I'm just having a blast with another iteration of one of my favorite game series.
The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Remaster is exactly what I was hoping for — fast, smooth, and just as fun as I remember. The controls feel tight, the levels look amazing, and chaining combos is as satisfying as **** soundtrack brings back a ton of great memories and still sets the perfect mood for skating, though I do miss a couple of the original tracks that didn’t make the cut. Minor gripe, though — overall, this remaster absolutely rips.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is an excellent sequel. It has the smooth skateboard gameplay we all know and love, with tons of features and modes. It also nails the vibes of early 2000s skate culture. All the new levels are fun as well. The only knocks against it are its lame create-a-skater, which is a huge missed opportunity, and the fact that its content just isn’t as iconic as the original two games in the THPS series. It also doesn’t look nearly as good as it plays. Anyone who played THPS 1 + 2 who wants more content should rest assured though that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is an easy recommendation.
As an old school fan who remembers these originals so fondly, it pains me to say this isn’t the perfect, definitive remaster I’ve been praying for since 2020.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is nostalgic fever dream that is an upgrade in more ways than one, despite it not being completely faithful to the original games.
Great remake, with lots of content, secrets and new (great) maps! Played 80 hours and don't regret it at all! Thanks for bringing the series back. Looking forward to the sequel!
An issue prevent me from fully enjoying this game, gameplay feels a little bit too fast. Just enough to be annoying. The levels seem to have areas where you can crash, or fall, paired with fast movement, causing frustrating crashes.
The game is decent but could be so much better.I'm a player of all the older THPS games, both career and **** game could have had the maps of the older THPS games but with slightly more modern mechanics. It has a wallplant, but no caveman. It doesn't make much sense.
The career could have been a thousand times better. This career mode is simply a classic mode, with no replayability. Once you've finished the career mode, there's no point in playing it again. If it had even had the old tasks that certain characters gave you, it would have been much more interesting.
The online mode is very mediocre and offers practically no incentive, neither for solo play nor with friends. You can't watch anyone after the timer runs out; the game just keeps going, which takes away the excitement. Combo challenge? Is there really a game mode where the first person to reach that score wins? and the scores are very low, normally anyone can do it in 5 seconds, there are no game modes like slap, king of the hill, you can't even see other people's custom skaters, this game is very poorly executed
This game hurts me deeply on the Switch 1. I would actually normally give this game a solid 8 but i'm rating it a 3 because while the switch 1 version is decent, the lack of anything on cartridge is a huge deal breaker and needs to be fixed. All that is on cartridge without the update is the guide level and foundry. I will give this game an easy 8 and real review once atleast all of the singleplayer content is on here like in THPS 1 2 on Switch. Activision and developers, please stop treating cartridges like a joke. I'm so tired of these half download cartridges coming out and I feel like I've been fighting against these releases for 8 years now and no one has learned a thing. Unbelievable.
