In mid-May of this year Agfa-Type started to ship on CD-ROM Version 2.1 of its Agfa PostScript Type Library for the Macintosh. Total fonts in the program have now reached a record 1,650, with all of the fonts in the library now Type 1. Also, Version 2.1 now includes 126 separate volumes (12,000 individual characters) of Pi and Symbols.

Late in 1990, Agfa Compugraphic introduced Version 2.0 of its professional-quality PostScript screen and printer fonts along with several third-party software programs for enhancing desktop publishing capabilities. These programs include: ALSoft's MasterJuggler, a font and sound management utility; Altsys' ArtImporter, an application for creating PostScript fonts from logos, symbols, signatures, and other artwork; Altsys' Metamorphosis, a PostScript font conversion utility that generates outlines and Type 1 fonts from Type 3 fonts; and Broderbund's TypeStyler, an application which allows Macintosh users to create headlines, logos, signage, and special effects with any PostScript font; and Esselte Letraset's LetraStudio, a professional type customization program. …
