Several Penguin Random House Authors Named to Time100 Most Influential Creators of 2025 List

Recently, TIME released their Most Influential Creators of 2025 list, identifying individuals who are making a significant impact on the ways people consume information. Several Penguin Random House authors were selected by TIME, recognized for their noteworthy followings and ability to shape culture. Click here to read TIME's full list.
On the list, TIME named nine Penguin Random House authors among the most influential creators of the year:

Penguin Press and Penguin Random House Social Impact Team Partner to Donate THE JAILHOUSE LAWYER to Incarcerated Individuals

On July 8, Penguin Press will publish THE JAILHOUSE LAWYER by Calvin Duncan and Sophie Cull. This title is a searing and ultimately hopeful account of Calvin Duncan, described by Sister Helen Prejean as “the most extraordinary jailhouse lawyer of our time.”
The book traces Duncan’s 30-year journey through Angola following a wrongful murder conviction, his transformation into a brilliant legal mind behind bars, and his ongoing fight for justice on behalf of others still incarcerated.
John Grisham succinctly captures the essence of Duncan's story: “If I created a fictional character like Calvin Duncan, no one would believe him and the story wouldn’t work. Fiction can be many things, but it has to be believable. Duncan’s story is so incredible it strains belief. It is so heartwarming and hopeful that it will stay with you for a long time.”

Prime Video released first look images and teaser art for the upcoming spy-thriller series Butterfly, starring and executive produced by Daniel Dae Kim (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Lost, Hawaii Five-O), and based on the BOOM! Studios’ graphic novel series created by Arash Amel. The series was sold, developed, and produced by BOOM! Studios' in-house media IP team.

In Chicago on June 14, the nation's top food authors were honored at the 2025 James Beard Media Awards, presented by Capital One. The Media Awards recognize authors, broadcast producers, hosts, journalists, podcasters, and social media content creators.
The Book Awards are awarded to cookbooks and other nonfiction food- or beverage-related books that were published in the U.S. in 2024.. Congratulations to our six winning Penguin Random House titles!

This Thursday, June 19, we celebrate Juneteenth. On June 19, 1865, union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas announcing that the Civil War was over, and slavery abolished. A holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved became an official federal holiday in 2021 when President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act. Penguin Random House, closed Thursday in observance of the holiday, publishes the following excellent books for adults and young readers that honor the occasion:
