A couple of fixes to issues found while reviewing pypa/cibuildwheel#2349:

  • Stop exporting the HOST environment variable (discussion).
  • Allow tests that produce no Python output (discussion). This is no longer considered an error, as long as logcat messages of some kind were captured.

👍 Looks like a good set of cleanups and simplifications backed up by the experience from cibuildwheel PR development.

Modifies the test runner script to no longer export the the HOST environment
variable, and to allow for tests that produce no Python output (output from the
Android console is still expected and required). These changes stem from
knowledge gained during developing a PR for Android support in cibuildwheel.

⚠️⚠️⚠️ Buildbot failure ⚠️⚠️⚠️

Hi! The buildbot ARM Raspbian Linux Asan 3.x (no tier) has failed when building commit 149bddc.

What do you need to do:

  1. Don't panic.
  2. Check the buildbot page in the devguide if you don't know what the buildbots are or how they work.
  3. Go to the page of the buildbot that failed (https://buildbot.python.org/#/builders/1811/builds/45) and take a look at the build logs.
  4. Check if the failure is related to this commit (149bddc) or if it is a false positive.
  5. If the failure is related to this commit, please, reflect that on the issue and make a new Pull Request with a fix.

You can take a look at the buildbot page here:

Modifies the test runner script to no longer export the the HOST environment
variable, and to allow for tests that produce no Python output (output from the
Android console is still expected and required). These changes stem from
knowledge gained during developing a PR for Android support in cibuildwheel.
