About Asics
Asics was founded in 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka, who was inspired to improve mental and physical well-being in Japan. The company was originally called Onitsuka Co., Ltd. and specialized in footwear for athletic and sports purposes. After a merger in 1977, the Asics Corporation was officially born.
