Littelfuse buys Ixys for $750m

Littelfuse, the Chicago circuit protection component specialist, has bought Californian power semiconductor company Ixys for $750 million.

Littelfuse says it can make more than $30 million of annualised savings in the next two years.

Earlier this year Littelfuse bought a controlling stake in Monolithic Semiconductor.


Ixys is the company which bought Zilog.


Littelfuse sees the Ixys deal as a way of expanding its presence in the automotive market.
