You sign into Player in using your Virgin Media email address - that's the one we sent you when you joined Virgin Media, even if it was a while ago. It'll end in one of these:
If you've got a @blueyonder address, this will be your "primary email address". If you're not sure what your primary email address is you can check it in the 'Manage household accounts' section of My Virgin Media.
The first time you sign in, we'll ask you to accept our terms and conditions for Virgin Media Player and that's it - you're all signed up!
Virgin Media Player is only available for Virgin TV customers who have Virgin Broadband (that's fibre optic broadband, also known as cable).
To keep things secure, you can only log in with the primary account address. Sub accounts cannot log into Player at the moment.
If you're not sure what your email address is and want us to remind you then just get hold of a copy of your latest Virgin Media bill, and click on the 'My Virgin Media' link on our website. From there you will find a 'Forgotten your email address or password?' where you can get your details after asking a few security questions using details from your latest bill.
That's because Virgin Media Player is exclusive to Virgin Media customers! Also, by signing in, you can save videos to your playlist, start from where you left off last time and get access to shows we've recommended just for you.
Yes, just not at the same time. So, if you sign in while someone else is using your account, you won't be able to watch anything until they're finished.

We're planning to update Player regularly with new shows, usually monthly (subject to agreement), as well as new channels now and then. Watch this space!
The length of the shows varies, just like on TV, but most are around 20 or 40 minutes.
Absolutely! If you pause or stop an item part of the way through, Player will remember where you stopped and start from there when you next sign in, even on another computer.
When your internet connection slows down, Player will pause and wait until it can start playing again. When this happens, the Virgin Media loading logo will come up. If this happens, it might just be that someone sharing your connection is downloading large files or streaming other videos.
If your connection keeps slowing down, you can find about increasing the speed of your broadband here. We've also got tips on how to get the best performance from your broadband here.
Sorry! Player is only for streaming shows with an internet connection, so you won't be able to download them.
On some computers, if you're running lots of different applications at the same time, it can make the video start to judder. This is because Player is sharing your computer's resources and competing against all those other applications at the same time. Try closing some other applications and see if that helps. This can also happen if your anti virus software is scanning at the time.
Virgin Media Player uses a clever piece of technology that gets you the highest quality video that you can watch on your computer, depending on your software, hardware and broadband connection. Player will automatically adjust itself to the right quality, so you should see it change a few seconds after you move to the full screen view.
