Media figure
In the past dozen years, Alan Keyes has become a respected voice in the "alternative media."

From 1994 to 1995, Dr. Keyes hosted a conservative radio talk show, "America's Wake-Up Call: The Alan Keyes Show," originating with station WCBM in Baltimore, Maryland. In the vein of Rush Limbaugh, Keyes used the nationally-syndicated show to air his views on topics ranging from unwed mothers and abortion to U.S. foreign policy and gun rights resulting in a growing grassroots audience that ultimately led to him to run for president in 1996.

Beginning in 1997, America's Wake-Up Call resumed as a simulcast on both radio and cable TV, sponsored by the America's Voice network. The three-hour live daily broadcast expanded Dr. Keyes' loyal national following, as he continued his insightful, candid commentary on current issues focusing in the show's final years on the failure of the Bill Clinton presidency. Dr. Keyes became known as an unflinching critic of the moral lapses and destructive policies of the Clinton administration, and of the Democratic Party in general, throughout those controversial years of deception, perjury, and corruption.

In the wake of his 2000 presidential run during which he greatly influenced national political debate Dr. Keyes was invited by MSNBC to host a live hour-long commentary program titled "Alan Keyes is Making Sense," which aired Monday through Thursday in prime time, beginning January 2002.

The award-winning show ran five months, before being canceled reportedly due to opposition from pro-Palestinians who objected to Dr. Keyes' strong support for Israel, and from gay activists who lobbied heavily for the show's cancellation.

During its run, the unique program showcased Dr. Keyes' extensive foreign policy background and his informed insights about American domestic policy.

Immediately after the show ended (with ratings as good as its successors'), Dr. Keyes was given a first-time award for journalistic excellence by the State of Israel, and treated to a meeting with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and a tour of Israel's military facilities in Gaza. The four-day event, as well as Dr. Keyes' speech accepting the award, was widely publicized by the Israeli media.

In addition to TV and radio broadcasting, Dr. Keyes has written a column for WorldNetDaily from 1997 to the present. One of the largest conservative media sources on the internet, WorldNetDaily has provided Dr. Keyes a forum to greatly influence policymakers, national leaders, and grassroots Americans with his powerful, well-reasoned writings and common-sense observations.
