Suggested Changes

#10825 (comment) got me thinking, there's kind of a standard set of explainers associated with evaluating community engagement on rule proposals:

  1. That the rule seems like a good idea but might not be in our maintenance bandwidth
  2. Encouragement to socialize out the issue
  3. Encouragement to try it out in a third-party plugin
    • If the issue is wontfixed, that plugin can become a standalone project folks use

Maybe we could write this up in a standard blog explainer? I think it'd be good for two reasons:

  • Saving us & issue posters time copy & pasting subsets on the issues throughout discussions
  • Making it clear that we're encouraging experimentation & third-party rules, not just shutting down ideas we don't like
